We have all heard the saying, “If you don’t know where you are going, then any place will do.” This is not a good strategy for setting expectations, managing performance, and driving value. The foundation of accountability lives in the expectations that are set, the follow-up process, and the coaching and support provided. In this workshop, the participants will learn how to set detailed, specific, and time-bounded expectations that will change the way they get work done through others. This 2-hour workshop fits naturally after the improving accountability workshop.

Our “It’s Okay to Be the Boss” book workshop program has successfully developed leaders at all levels: team leaders, supervisors, managers, senior executives, presidents, and business owners. This training experience offers a very personalized leadership growth experience, and each participant will be held accountable to apply and share their learnings with the class. The program is spread out over nine, 1.5 – 2-hour sessions and includes the completion of the TKI Conflict and PBI Influencing assessments by each participant. The assessment profiles will be linked to the learnings, discussed in each session, and will help the participants learn how to be the boss in an effective and practical way.
Specifically, the participants will learn how to:
Take the stress out of leading and driving accountability.
Implement a “system” of leadership.
Coach, motivate, and inspire their team.
Set expectations, follow up, and coach to improve performance of their team.
Provide constructive feedback that inspires, not demotivates.
Become a more effective team leader.

This extended 4-to-5-hour workshop is a deep dive on the specific behaviors of your team as it relates to building and maintaining teamwork and trust within the group. Our philosophy is that for teams to improve, individual behaviors need to be understood and addressed. People need to work on themselves by first learning and growing and translate to new habits and behaviors to improved teamwork and trust. Therefore, each participant will complete the TKI and PBI leadership profiles to understand and self-reflect on how their tendencies contribute, or not, to teamwork and trust. This engagement includes a team-climate survey, interviews with each participant, a comprehensive discussion around the elements of teamwork and trust, specific barriers to teamwork and trust within the group, and an analysis of the behavioral assessments which are integrated in the workshop. The goal of this engaging workshop is to identify the gaps in teamwork and trust and create an action plan for visible and sustainable team growth.

Traditional leadership, by default, is a byproduct of the chain of command, and it is both positional and authority based. Servant leadership shifts the traditional mindset to defining the role of the team leader as a temporary act of service in support of the success of people. Servant leaders see their job as working for their team, while leaders with traditional mindsets operate as the boss. This 2-hour workshop will transform the participant’s mindset to supporting the success of others. Learnings will include the language of servant leadership, how leadership-leader-standard work can be effective, and how to be more of a transformational leader. Every team member has available discretionary effort, and servant leaders inspire and motivate to activate that untapped effort. This workshop will help you understand how.

Understanding how to manage emotions and reactions through self-awareness should be a professional and personal goal of every evolving leader. Our experience suggests that emotional intelligence is a key attribute of the most effective leaders. By learning or elevating your emotional intelligence, you can unlock available leadership capability that will improve your relationships, coaching ability, feedback delivery, improve your ability to manage stressful situations, and ultimately drive significant value to the organization. In our 2-hour workshop, we break down the key components of emotional intelligence and provide practical ways to become more self-aware, so you can influence as a leader at a higher level. You should walk away with the techniques and concepts to better self-regulate in any given situation by understanding your tendencies and behavior and how to leverage different behaviors for different circumstances.

The game has changed when it comes to recruiting and retaining talent. Organizations and leaders are up against a whole new set of challenges, both culturally and competitively, that is forcing companies to change the way they attract and retain talent. However, no matter how many incentives and wage increases are in play, the one thing that doesn’t change is an employee’s emotional need to feel they are part of a team, a mission, and having a genuine connection with their team leader.
In this powerful, interactive 2-hour workshop, we teach leaders how to be more connected to their employees and the employee experience. Each participant will discover just how much power and control they have for improving the employee experience and how that plays a big role in employee retention. Our goal is to create more self-awareness around the leader as a retention coach and helps each participant realize that new behaviors and techniques are necessary to retain talent in the current marketplace.
